Hotel Seehof

We've been lucky enough to stay at this wonderful place several times, and we always feel so comfortable at the Seehof. The host family is warm, kind, easygoing, and accommodating, and the care they put into the place really shows. They're simply top-notch. We'd give more stars if we could. Thank you for such a lovely time with you, from the family from Switzerland, Manuela & Fred and everyone.

The lake access is nice, and the property also has a tennis court, playground, and children's playroom. The staff provide excellent service, breakfast is very good, and the young manager pays close attention to guests. Still, I don't think the four-star rating is justified. The hotel feels dated and seems to cut corners in several areas, despite having real potential. Dinner is mostly soup, salad bar, and a main course. As vegetarians, we found the choices inadequate during our week there. Every appetizer had meat, there were no soup alternatives, and Saturday was buffet only, with potatoes and pasta as the only vegetarian choices. I feel that should be the bare minimum these days. Our room was okay, but cobwebs stayed on the ceiling all week. An exposed satellite cable had been taped messily to the wall, which doesn't belong in a hotel in my opinion. At a lakeside hotel, I'd expect beach towels. When we asked, we got old, faded, family-sized bath towels. The bathrobes were the same sort of thing, not what I'd expect from a four-star hotel. You have to fetch the sun loungers yourself from the shed, and they're quite dilapidated. There's a snack bar on the beach run by the senior owners from 1:30 p.m. onward, which is a nice idea in principle. But when I ordered apricot cake on our first day, the senior owner couldn't find a cake server. He took one that was already soaked in the sink and briefly rinsed it with water. That didn't meet my hygiene standards. Given what's actually provided, I still don't think this merits four stars. To me, it would make more sense as a farm stay or holiday apartment complex.

What an idyllic spot, with private access to Lake Längsee and a fantastic view. The hotel serves meals right by the lake, and the hosts are extremely friendly.

The Schratt family are welcoming hosts who really try to make your stay pleasant. It's a hidden gem for swimming in natural Lake Längsee and enjoying time in nature. We highly recommend the "Seehof"!
