Hotel Klopeinersee

Excellent.

The rooms are fully equipped and spotlessly clean, even if the furnishings aren’t brand new. There’s plenty to like outside the rooms too: excellent half-board food with lots of choice, bike storage with e-bike charging, free sun loungers and parasols, a private pedal boat, and several SUP boards. The setting right on the lake is lovely, with a shaded lawn and a roomy jetty leading into the water. Update: From the 2025 wine season onward, the hotel will offer only self-catering apartments. What a shame!

The welcome from Mrs. Maierhofer was so warm. The hotel has a lovely family atmosphere, friendly service, and plenty of regular guests. Inside, the flair and ambiance are priceless, a real feast for the eyes. The rooms are stylish and have everything you could need, with a delightful view too. The restaurant is wonderful as well, though I won’t say more or we might not get a room next year! It was a lovely holiday with friends in beautiful Carinthia. When you walk in, you might expect to see Gunther Philipp or Hans Moser at reception, but instead there was the lovely Mrs. Maierhofer to greet us.

The food was excellent, and the afternoon spread of ice cream and cakes had lots of choice. Even the red wine was served at just the right temperature, such a treat. The rooms were very clean, the staff made us feel welcome straight away, and you really feel the Austrian hospitality. With direct beach access and a wonderfully quiet spot on the promenade, the location is perfect. We had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and would love to return.
