Strandhotel Orchidee

What made us choose this place was how warm and helpful the owners were from the very first emails and call. When we arrived, the host welcomed us like friends, showed us around, and told us to get in touch if we needed anything. The prices for the stay, accommodation, and restaurant seemed very fair. From what I found while comparing hotels nearby, this was the best value for money. We booked for a short June 2023 stay at Klopeinersee and were amazed by the place. We stayed in the spacious Parkvilla apartment, a historic house that's been renovated throughout and decorated beautifully. It had a full kitchen with dishes, a fridge, coffee machine, kettle, towels, and cleaning supplies; a large living room with a big flat screen TV and sofa; an annex room that's perfect for a couple; and a master bedroom with a large bathroom. Towels, toiletries, paper towels, and toilet paper were all plentiful. There was also a terrace with a table and chairs. We loved the apartment, and it had everything we needed. We didn't stay in the main hotel building, though it looked nice and comfortable, and the rooms seemed to have direct lake views. The hotel is right on the lake, with a lovely boardwalk beach, sun loungers, and umbrellas. There's even a small boathouse with a sauna that hotel guests can use for free. The mountain views behind the lake are beautiful, and the lake is said to have drinking-water quality. Paddleboards cost 10 EUR per hour. Parking and Wi-Fi were free. The restaurant was, in our opinion, the best in the area. It has outdoor seating, fair prices, generous portions, and plenty of dishes. We tried several and liked them all. There was a big choice of drinks, cocktails, homemade pastries in lots of varieties, and ice-cream cups. The service team were attentive, friendly, and professional, and worked really well together. Breakfast had a very good range: different honeys, local meats and cold cuts, cheeses, cereal, sweet baked goods, lots of teas, coffee, juice, fruit, gravlax, bread, spreads, eggs, ham, and more. For us, a huge extra was that the hotel welcomes pets. We brought our pet rabbits and were glad they could come along. There's a large grassy area in front of the hotel with a lake view, where you can relax or play. It also has a petting zoo, playground, and trampoline, so it seems like a good option for families with children. The property is genuinely accessible, with an accessible bathroom and doors wide enough for wheelchairs, not just a few ramps. My late aunt used a wheelchair, so I know a bit about what works and what doesn't. We were a couple in our mid-to-late 30s, or moms, travelling with our two pet rabbits. I highly recommend the hotel and would be very glad to stay again on our next trip to Klopeinersee.

Excellent. Just skip the cold coffee and get a cappuccino instead :)

The apartment was nice, and it's right by Klopeinersee. You don't need to cross a road.
