Sonnblick

A quiet spot way out in the Pitztal, with a lovely room and all the comforts you could want. There’s a whirlpool, sauna, steam room and relaxation lounge, plus massages, though not on weekends. The food is great and the service is wonderful.

We spent three nights at Hotel Sonnblick in Pitztal and were impressed by how hospitable everyone was. The staff were kind and helpful, breakfast was excellent, and the chef made creative, delicious menus each evening. The Austrian wines were fantastic too. I highly recommend the hotel.

We stayed four nights and will certainly come back. The hotel has a lovely bar and terrace with a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains. Inside, the rooms are comfortable, very clean and well kept, and the welcome was warm and sincere from the start. Staff are extremely friendly. Dinner is refined Austrian cooking, and you can taste the kitchen team’s skill.

The only little drawback is that there isn’t much to do right nearby, and you need a short bus ride to reach the ski lift. The stop is right in front of the hotel, though. I stayed at sonnblick for a 5 day skicourse with alpine welten, and had a great time. The staff were as friendly and hospitable as you could hope for, and the food was excellent. The hotel is modern and well equipped, with great renovated rooms, though some rooms haven’t been renovated yet. There’s also a great sauna in the basement. You won’t be disappointed if you stay here.
