Charming Studio at Ferienpark Kreischberg

We expected a separate chalet, but got an apartment in a row of connected units instead. Since everything is wood, you hear everyone walking past in ski boots, with all that heavy clomping. There’s hardly any cupboard space for clothes, the bathroom fixtures need updating, and the tap only works when turned all the way up. We asked in advance about fireworks in the park on New Year’s Eve and got an email saying they were absolutely forbidden. That night was like a warzone. Our dog was in shock and shook for eight hours. We talked to reception and the new owner, but they didn’t seem to care and said it wasn’t their problem. Sleep was awful too. The beds and pillows were the worst I’ve ever had. You sink into the mattress like it’s 50 years old and worn out.

The staff tried to help, but they were disorganized and not very professional. The place was almost bearable, but lacked basic things: toilet paper, WiFi and hot water. We had to buy toilet paper ourselves, the WiFi hardly ever worked, and the boiler stopped producing hot water on the third day.

Looking forward to our stay! The hosts seem very helpful, and we know it’s a great place to ski. Just a heads-up: scammers have recently tried to impersonate the hosts when bookings are made through booking. The real hosts confirmed over the phone that I wasn’t the first to report this. Don’t click links sent through WhatsApp. Stay safe and keep communication on the official booking platform. I’ll add a more detailed review after our holiday :)

The apartment itself was nice, though a couple of things were nearly unusable. The service was the biggest letdown. Reception didn’t know when the apartment would be ready. Once it supposedly was, the dishwasher needed replacing, then they forgot to plug the fridge back in. We got a voucher for a washer but not a dryer, which turned out to run without drying anything 😅. We didn’t use the pool, so I can’t comment on it.
