We booked the "Wolfgangsee" room, which was perfect: nicely furnished, with a great view, in a quiet spot away from town, and dog friendly. The owners were kind and helpful. Wi-Fi was pretty unstable, the one small drawback. A couple of things to know: bring snow chains in winter. We forgot ours and struggled to drive up the hill. The hotel only takes cash. Even so, we had a great stay.

We were a family of three, with our one-year-old, for a week at Altroit. The Strobl family gave us a warm welcome and were always polite and ready to help. Their tips on nearby sights, restaurants, and bakeries made the stay even better. The apartment had a peaceful setting away from the tourist crowds, surrounded by nature. From the balcony, the lake view was breathtaking, especially over breakfast. It’s a 10-minute walk to the city center, about 700 meters with 75 meters of elevation. We found the uphill walk pleasant. Everything inside was finished to a high standard and thoughtfully put together, from the living area and bedrooms to the bathroom. The kitchen had a stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and a full set of cookware and utensils, so we could make our own meals. We also appreciated the secure spot to store and charge our bikes, plus the complimentary coffee and sweets. The owners’ care showed in the details. We’d definitely book again. The internet was sometimes slow and unstable. Also, smoke from the ground-floor terrace could drift into the first-floor apartments when windows were open, so a smoking area away from balconies and windows might help. Those are just suggestions. We’d happily return to Altroit.

We spent five nights here and really enjoyed it. A very nice family runs the place.
