Hotel Frankenhof

The receptionist was friendly and helpful, and breakfast was generous and filling. Our room was clean and spacious, with a shared balcony next door, which was fine. The hotel is within walking distance of the train station and has a built-in kitchen and sauna, though we were too tired after hiking from Hallerangerhaus to use it. We also received a welcome card by email that gave us a free train ride to Seefeld.

The village is small and quiet, with beautiful hiking paths nearby, and Mittenwald is just one train stop away. The sauna felt great after a hike. Rooms were very clean and looked after every day. They’re bigger than standard hotel rooms and usually have a balcony. Breakfast is definitely worth it, especially during the holidays when shops are closed. The hotel’s 24/7 beer vending machine was super useful then, too.

Frankenhof was a very pleasant place to stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with all the amenities we needed, and there was daily housekeeping. The breakfast buffet had lots of options and kept us full. There’s plenty of parking, and by car or train the nearby attractions, including Eibsee, Zugspitze, Kochelsee, Walchensee and Innsbruck, are about 30-45 minutes away. Mittenwald is the closest town, about 10 minutes by car, with restaurants, bakeries, shops and supermarkets. I’d highly recommend the hotel.

We arrived late after our own caravan at a nearby campsite couldn’t cope with the unexpected snowfall. The staff gave us superb help organizing access after reception had closed.
