Falkensteiner Hotel Schladming l 4 Star Superior

The heated outdoor pool was a highlight. We went every day and loved watching the sunset from it. We had an incredible week at the Falkensteiner for a snowboarding holiday. The lifts and village centre were only a 5 minute walk away, closer than we expected, while the hotel still felt surrounded by nature and beautiful views. As vegans, we were pleased to find an evening menu with plenty of starters and main courses, plus lots of buffet choices. We tried everything during our stay and it was absolutely delicious. The staff were brilliant, really friendly and helpful, spoke English incredibly well, and we enjoyed getting to know them. The hotel was immaculate, the rooms lovely and warm, with TVs set up for casting and beautiful balcony views. The boot room was helpful too, with lockers where we could safely store our wet gear. The bar had a lovely atmosphere and looked onto the main slope, especially amazing when the floodlights were on in the evening. We'd love to stay again. Thanks for a wonderful week :)

The ski locker room was very nice, with heated boot racks and a sink for cleaning your boots. Planai station is close enough to walk to, though taking the bus is better if you can. I also walked from the train station, and it was manageable. The hotel was excellent during my 4-night stay, when I skied for 3 days. Breakfast and dinner had quality food, comfortable dining, and friendly staff, all of whom could speak English. The rooms are great, with wood finishes and plenty of storage. I was very impressed with Schladming and the hotel, and would highly recommend it for a great Austrian ski experience.

I've been here 4 times and everything was perfect, as usual. All the staff were excellent, Front Office, SPA, Restaurant, HK. The location also works perfectly for cross-country skiing in Untertall and Ramsau. After many kilometres, I can properly relax here in the evening. It was wonderful, and I hope I'll be back next year during scholl holidays, maybe I'll catch Yoga too 😀.

We spent Christmas week here for a family ski holiday, and we were all very impressed. The hotel is modern and stylish, with wood throughout that gives it charm. Staff were attentive and friendly, and speaking English from the UK wasn't a problem. Food was very good quality with plenty of variety. We especially enjoyed the Christmas Eve gala dinner, with live music, a complementary cocktail, and readings. The indoor/outdoor pool and adult spa area were great, and we used them most days to relax our muscles. The hotel overlooks the black slope into the village where the famous slalom night race is held. The spacious boot room has lockers, and the bus stop for the Planai ski lift is just outside. We walked back to the hotel a couple of times, but catching the bus worked better when we timed it right. You can also change buses at the Planai lift to get to other parts of the wider ski area up and down the valley. It's a stunning hotel, and we'd love to visit again.
