Ferienhof Jochum

We spent four days there in March. The charming house has good bus connections to the ski area, and the landlady was very easy to deal with. The apartment had two bedrooms, a separate toilet, and a great coffee machine. One room had a sofa bed, which was a bit of an issue since my back was sore after the days and nights at the holiday farm. Order fresh bread rolls the day before and they’ll be delivered in the morning.

The apartment was roomy, with a lovely view from the balcony, and the landlady was kind. There’s a locked, heated ski room and a boot drying system. Farm smells are definitely noticeable, though I didn’t mind them. The bread and roll service is handy, and the eggs and milk straight from the animals were super tasty. Her son was adorable. Simple, clean, and authentic. The farm’s driveway is just 50 meters from the apartment, and the bus stops there. A 15-minute ride, included in the ski pass, takes you to the Saloberjet lift and straight into the Ski-Arlberg ski area. You can take ski route 309 into Schröcken, a quiet route even for inexperienced skiers. At the end, there’s a cozy bar by the church where you can wait for the bus, which drops you at the apartment in two minutes, or walk there yourself.

The apartment was really spacious, and the ski area is very close. You can practically ski right up to the farm. The farm smell is noticeable, but I didn’t find it unpleasant. The eggs and milk straight from the animals were absolutely delicious, and the landlady was very nice. Her little son was adorable. 🙂 It isn’t cheap, though I suppose that’s true of most places in the area.

The ski bus made getting to the ski area really easy, and the kids even got to visit the stable. We spent New Year’s here with our three children and felt very comfortable. Frau Jochum and her family were kind, helpful hosts. We’re already looking forward to coming back next season.
