The location made getting around easy: it was a 4-minute walk to the main train station, about 7 minutes to the town square, restaurants, and ski bus. Schruns is charming and easy to explore on foot, and one non-ski day is enough to see it comfortably. Silvretta Montafon is a top-tier Austrian ski destination, with about 140 km of pistes and 35 modern lifts. The snowpark wasn't fully open during our visit, and its jump features hadn't been built yet. The ski room was easy to reach from the side of the property without stairs. It was heated and had boot warmers, which made getting ready each day simple. We also got daily room service to straighten up and make the beds, something we hadn't expected at a B&B-style property. There was an outdoor hot tub and sauna area, plus a full-size washer and dryer, a big bonus on a longer trip. Parking was plentiful and organized, with an assigned space for each unit. The property also has an EV charger, though you'll need to coordinate access with the owner depending on parking availability. We arrived after hours, and the owner personally guided us through the seamless self check-in, which was reassuring. We were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a first-floor apartment near the breakfast and common area, just steps from the sauna. A thoughtful touch. Great breakfast too. The property exceeded our expectations.

Rene and his mother were fantastic hosts. I asked them for help with several things, and they came through every time. The hotel lived up to its high rating, and it’s perfectly placed for hiking in the Montafon region. The rooms are simple but thoughtfully laid out, spotlessly clean, and all have beautiful mountain views.

We had great hiking right from the door, and the Wildpass is a handy way to get unlimited cable car rides if you're heading out on the trails. The hotel is quiet despite being close to everything: a minute to the centre, three to the bus and train stations, and five to the nearest cable car base. Rooms were comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully laid out, with free parking too. Breakfast had what we needed, especially good bread. There’s a reserved table for you, and you can use it throughout the day and evening, which is useful if you bring food or order pizza. Rene is a great host, and his years in hotels and restaurants show in the small, clever touches. I’d happily recommend staying here.

Rene and his family made us feel very welcome, and breakfast was lovely. They even kept our luggage in a locked room for two days while we went on a hut trip. Rene also helped us plan hikes and hut visits with maps and bus and train schedules. The wood in the rooms gives them a relaxing feel, and the rooms are cute, with comfortable beds and duvets; the bathroom was clean and up to date. Hochjochstöbli worked perfectly for exploring Schruns and the area. We’d love to return for skiing, hiking, and biking.
