A terrible experience. I had paid the full amount through Expedia (Hotels.com), but at the hotel they asked me to pay again. The manager kept insisting the money hadn’t arrived and threatened to call the police, even after I showed him the receipt. I wish he had called, since perhaps they could have helped, but he didn’t. Expedia also contacted him and explained how to check the payment, but he wouldn’t listen to them either. After an hour of phone calls and trying to calm him down, Expedia Customer Service helped get the first payment refunded, and we paid at the hotel instead. Why is this hotel listed on Hotels.com if they don’t know how to use it? Then, right at the end, he blamed us for not returning the room key. It turned out the key was in his own pocket. Gosh!

Please don’t book this place through any platform. I’ll never forget the way he treated us over a bill that we’d already paid on hotels.com the day before. I wish I’d read the comments before we went there. :( The lady was nice, though. I don’t know if she’s his wife, but I felt sorry for her.

We stayed at Golker's again this year, this time in one of their new apartments, and loved it straight away. It was tastefully furnished, roomy and had everything we needed. The breakfast buffet was generous, with something for everyone. I’m sure we’ll be back for another holiday at Golker's.

I booked through a portal, then got an email asking for several hundred euros more. The provider said the portal had shown the wrong prices. That felt unscrupulous.

The host was really friendly, and the apartment was clean and nicely put together. The kitchen had everything we needed, and there was private parking just for the apartment. I can recommend it.
