Our room faced a busy street, so it was far from quiet. Breakfast doesn't start until 8 a.m., which was too late for our early departure. At the price, having no breakfast because we had to leave early, on top of the unfriendly service, makes this somewhere I wouldn't recommend. We'd arrived that evening so my husband could split up a long drive. In the restaurant, a staff member greeted us coldly and complained about being understaffed while having to check guests in and wait tables. She couldn't understand English or my nearly fluent German. I asked three times to speak with a manager and was close to leaving to find another hotel when Mr. Ertl, whom I assume is the owner, arrived. His English and customer service were excellent. Since it was late, we stayed, but I'd look at other hotels in the area before deciding whether to return, and that's unlikely. Hospitality means treating guests with respect. The night before, I'd stayed at a B&B hotel in Slowenia with WiFi, breakfast from 6:30, warm and friendly multilingual staff, and a distinctly more reasonable price.
