Of the places we stayed in Germany and Austria, this was our favorite. The rooms were clean, the hosts friendly, and the surrounding mountains looked great. There were cute chickens wandering around too.

I’d emailed the owners with a question about booking an apartment through Airbnb. They replied kindly and suggested booking directly, which I agreed to by email. Then, a day and a half later, they told me the apartment had been booked through Booking.com and was no longer available. It was an annoying mistake, and I was disappointed that they didn’t take responsibility for forgetting to include me and remove the apartment from the Booking.com reservation, or offer a helpful alternative. Unfortunately, they left me with a bad impression.

The location is right in the centre but still quiet, and the balcony has a lovely view. I was delighted by this beautiful Tyrolean house and felt comfortable and welcome straight away. The apartments are spacious and tastefully furnished with wood and wrought iron. They have a modern bathroom and a fantastic kitchen. The owners clearly know what they’re doing. I’d say it’s unbeatable.

We spent a week in Seefeld over New Year’s with our son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter. The apartments were clean and comfortable, and we found the Hiltpold family very nice and friendly. We highly recommend the Schmiedhof.
