Bauernhofferien Oberdürnberg

We had loads to do right on the farm, from checking for eggs in the morning and bringing some back for breakfast to feeding the goats dandelions and grass, brushing the horses, and petting the many kittens. The kids could also help in the milking parlor, try horseback riding, or go for a tractor ride. Their favorite was driving the toy tractors toward the grass in the cowshed. There’s a trampoline, soccer field, table tennis, foosball, seesaw, swings, climbing frame, treehouse, sandbox, and basketball hoop, along with bikes we could borrow for free. Barbecuing was another option. The friendly farmers were great with the children, and we felt well cared for. They even offered bread rolls and fresh milk delivered to our door the next morning. We came for our first vacation here in 2025 with our son and his grandmother. The farm is in a fantastic spot, with no through roads nearby, so the children could play freely. The rooms were clean and charmingly furnished, and there was plenty of information about things to do. We also found board games, books, and small toys like Lego for evenings in the room. Whenever we had a question or needed something, someone was happy to help. It was a wonderful trip with lots of good memories, and the panoramic view made us think about coming back. The children especially loved spending time with the horses. In the evenings they could ride Laura and the pony Ronia, and our youngest daughter enjoyed grooming them together. Farmer Thomas would also take them on tractor rides whenever they wanted, which was a real highlight. We came as Mom, Dad, and three children aged 8, 5, and 3, and had a lovely stay at this beautiful, peaceful farm. Katharina gave us a warm welcome and was attentive and helpful the whole time. The location is quiet and away from busy roads, while still being close to Salzburg and shopping. Everything was exceptionally clean and well kept, and the balcony view was breathtaking. We’d definitely come back and recommend this lovingly run farm.

The hosts are incredibly kind and gave the children some experiences they won’t forget. With dairy cows, goats, chickens, a horse, and a pony, it’s hard to imagine a better place for kids. The farm is very idyllic, Salzburg is easy to reach, and you can explore the surrounding area on foot. Our apartment was practical and had everything we needed. I’m already looking forward to coming back.
