Alpenhotel Enzian

The staff were helpful, and they even took care of a small request we made when booking. We’ve stayed here for three holidays now and have been completely happy each time. It feels like a thoughtful gesture toward guests who keep coming back. The location works perfectly for skiing, and the wellness area is really pleasant.

The food is good and the location is amazing, but the hotel’s quality has slipped over the years. I’ve had a lot of trouble with the staff, from no one carrying our suitcases to the car to problems with the dinner waiters and spa workers. The spa can be dirty and go a long time without being cleaned. Management needs to do a better job organizing the staff and helping them improve.

The food was good, the interior warm and modern, and the hotel is in a perfect ski-in, ski-out spot. We had a great stay in winter 23/24, so the problems this season, 24/25, were especially disappointing. It’s our second visit, but we’ll most likely skip this hotel next time. Our room wasn’t ready at the 2 pm check-in time, and we only got in around 3-3:30. Nobody came to help unload our luggage, either. During the first five days, the room went uncleaned three times. After the first time, we specifically asked for cleaning between 10 am and 2 pm. When it happened a third time, I asked to speak to the manager, but there wasn’t one at the hotel. I was told he also managed another hotel. I waited for him, never saw him, and gave up after a few minutes. The shampoo had run out, so I asked reception to refill it during cleaning. The room was cleaned after lunch, but the shampoo still hadn’t been replaced, and I had to ask reception again. One evening, they apparently ran out of bottled water. We were given tap water at every table and charged for it as bottled water. That was shameful. There weren’t enough tablecloths or napkins at breakfast or dinner, which gave the impression they were cutting back on basic supplies. Restaurant service was slow, too. Nearly the whole team had been replaced, and staff complained there weren’t enough people. They did try, but that doesn’t excuse the chaos or lack of professionalism. One waitress was also working as a receptionist. Nothing personal against her, she was one of the diligent ones, but that’s a matter of principle. The massage was a complete failure. The masseuse was diligent, but didn’t seem suited to the job. She looked tired and might have been more useful at reception.

A great view and a handy place to set off for the Ötztal or the fantastic glacier. You can even ski here in summer. Haus Maria is worth a try, too, right in the middle of the track. You share the same garage.
