Appartements Solaris

We stayed at the Solaris Apartment for a week and would book it again. It's spacious enough for four, with two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and shower. The kitchen has all the essentials, and the price includes a space in the underground garage with 2.08m clearance. The Gigijoch valley station is under a 10-minute walk away. Give yourself a bit longer on the way back, though, because it's an uphill walk.

The smell of cannabis was noticeable throughout the place, and getting in touch with Maria was impossible even after we paid and tried calling about several things. She never answered. The apartment was poorly maintained, with broken cabinets and a damaged balcony floor. The oven kept cutting out every few minutes, the freezer was tiny, and there was no room service, cleaning service, or washing machine. It’s also at the edge of the village, in a spot that’s really hard to reach on foot. We paid a 180 euro cleaning fee, yet she still made us clean the whole kitchen with bleach. We left feeling awful. I strongly recommend staying elsewhere.

Getting back to the building after skiing means hauling yourself up a very steep hill, which is why I’m taking off a star. Apart from that, I’ve stayed here three times with friends and the apartments have always felt practically new, since the building is only about seven years old. They’re spacious, with at least one separate bedroom and en-suite bathroom. The kitchen and living area have plenty of equipment, including a dishwasher. There’s also free underground parking and a ski storage room.

The balcony furniture was rusted through, and paint was peeling off the metal door frames. The kitchen had only basic equipment, and the apartment felt very spartan. At this price I’d expect decent furniture. It’s a shame, but I won’t book the Solaris again.
