Haus Falke

We spent a week at Haus Falke for our yearly ski trip, but the owners’ extremely unfriendly behavior made it a terrible experience. The apartments have room for nine, though the kitchen is poorly equipped, with a bad dishwasher and too few utensils, pans, and pots, plus no water can. The beds and pillows are poor quality. They came into the apartment daily, whether we were out or eating or cleaning, and kept knocking even when it was locked from inside, including when someone was asleep with the flu. They watched everyone coming and going in the building. On the last evening, they made us leave because we’d invited two friends to dinner, though that rule wasn’t stated anywhere. Their poor English and horrible attitude left no room for a conversation. We missed our final day of skiing and had to drive home in the dark after a tiring day on the slopes. Completely irresponsible.

The apartment itself was nice, but the owners’ attitude spoiled the stay. They seemed to monitor every move and threw us out for having people over to dinner, even though we weren’t making noise or playing music. Apparently guests weren’t allowed, but there was no chance of a reasonable adult conversation because the woman wouldn’t listen.

The accommodation was moderately okay, but the owners’ constant supervision took away the usual cheerful holiday feeling. They monitored every step and confronted us over little things in an irrational way. It was tiring to keep having to explain ourselves in an apartment we’d rented for a holiday. Discussions were completely irrational, and communication was only possible in German. Stay away if you want to enjoy your break.

Things seemed fine when we arrived, but over the next few days it became obvious the owners were completely out of their depth. The owner came into the apartment every day without warning, sometimes when we were away and sometimes while we were eating or cleaning up. We didn’t play music and were hardly there anyway because we skied every day. In the end, they evicted us without a valid reason or any chance to talk it through. They helped us put our skis away, then told us, “no strangers allowed in.” Owners like that shouldn’t be allowed to rent places. Sending people onto the slopes in the dark is extremely dangerous!
