Landhaus Im Gruene

For a place called Landhaus, it felt more like a wooden shed. The walls are so thin that conversations carry from room to room, and the floor squeals loudly with every step. There are just 3 toilets and 2 tiny showers for 21 people. In winter, be ready to clear the icy driveway yourself, and the electricity bill comes later as an extra. I'd strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

The icy surroundings and having to clear the snow ourselves made the stay even less comfortable. The old wooden house was cold downstairs overnight, with a large gap under the front door letting the cold in. Electric heating cost extra afterward. It felt overpriced for winter, though summer might be okay.

The ski bus to Sölden and Gurgl was a real convenience, with buses coming nearly every 10 minutes, so getting to the slopes was easy. We also had plenty of parking for our group and made good use of the outdoor grill. The kitchen had everything we needed. Evenings in the living room were a highlight after skiing, with space for long chats. The house has a lovely alpine feel, cozy spots, and renovations done tastefully where needed. The newly updated bathrooms were especially nice. Gabi and Joe were so warm and welcoming. It’s clear they care about the house and the people staying there. We felt at home and would happily return.

The mice were the main reason this stay was so unpleasant. They ran through the kitchen and living room, got into lots of food, and left droppings around. There was a strong mouse smell in the kitchen, too. When we told the owner, he said he knew about the issue and where they were getting in. They repeatedly went behind the fridge, and the wood was already discolored, which made it seem like this had been going on for a while. The house is also very noisy, as others have mentioned. The stairs creaked loudly enough that you could hear someone throughout the house, so it was hard to get any quiet. There was no firewood for the fire or oven either. Our bread roll order was forgotten on Saturday, so we had to drive to the bakery. The owner apologized and said he'd forgotten to pass it on. He offered a bottle of schnapps next time as compensation, but there won't be a next time. I can't recommend the place after the mouse problem.
