Pension Bergfrieden

We wished we’d stayed longer to get out for walks and hikes and to see the motorcycle museum by the pass. Pension Bergfrieden was a highlight of our summer motorcycle trip through Austria and Bavaria, and such good value. The views near Timmelsjoch Pass are stunning, with meadows and streams all around. Our room was modern, the whole place was immaculate, and breakfast was generous. Up in the mountains, we slept better than anywhere else on the trip, thanks to the cool, fresh air after days of mostly 30C+ weather elsewhere. One thing to bear in mind: restaurants aren’t really walkable. Obergurgl has places to eat and a well-stocked grocery store about a five-minute drive away, and there’s a regular bus too.

Breakfast had plenty of tasty choices, and parking was available. Everything was very clean, the hostess was warm and helpful, and the lift is only a three-minute walk away. A great base for skiers, highly recommended.

The private sauna area, with both a sauna and steam bath, was the best part for us. We were three people skiing in Obergurgl and Sölden, and the guesthouse was close enough to walk to a lift. Sölden was easy to reach by car or ski bus. The landlady was kind and helpful, breakfast was good, and we felt at home. We’ll definitely return.

Beautiful views and a really comfortable, spotless bed ❤️😴. The staff were friendly, and one cable car is close enough to walk to; the others are reachable by ski bus.
