Pension Waldesruh

The hotel is clean, the staff are very friendly, and they cleaned our room and changed the towels every day. Breakfast was amazing, and there was a juicer so you could make fresh juice yourself, a great way to start the day. It's only three minutes from the slopes, in a quiet area.

I felt safe and really looked after here as a woman travelling alone, even with a blizzard going on. The team worked hard to keep us comfortable and make sure we could still get to the pistes. Breakfast was lovely and the atmosphere was cozy. I don’t speak German, but Lena speaks English and was reachable by phone at any hour. Her mother was kind too and did her best to help with whatever I needed. After checkout, Lena even drove me to the bus station so I wouldn’t need to call a taxi. Thank you!

The ski-in location was the big win: we could ski to the lift in the morning and back when we’d finished for the day. The price was good, and our room was wonderfully large. Breakfast had everything we needed, including eggs cooked to order, boiled or scrambled. The coffee tasted a little weak to me, though I’m picky about coffee. We spent four winter days here with my girlfriend, who speaks German, and the staff were also perfectly able to communicate with me in English. There wasn’t evening food during our stay, which was unlucky for us, but the village is about five minutes away by car or a 15-minute walk for après-ski and other events. Apparently they sometimes serve dinner too.

The hosts were helpful and nice, and breakfast included freshly squeezed juice. It’s in a great spot near the slopes.
