Wiesental

The hotel’s location made skiing easy, with just a couple of minutes uphill to the Hohe Mutt and Rosskar Bahn lift. We had a fabulous week at Hotel Wiesental. The room was spacious and very comfortable. It was too cold for us to really use the balcony, but we could still enjoy the mountain view from it. Our package included meals at the restaurant, which was excellent. The food was generally exceptional, and the serving staff were friendly and efficient.

The food was superb, from buffet breakfasts and afternoon cakes to the delicious six-course dinners each evening. There was an optional children’s menu, and the New Year’s Eve feast and entertainment were great fun. The Scheiber family and team looked after us extremely well. We’d just come back from a week skiing and snowboarding at the Wiesental and thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s a cosy, welcoming hotel in a very convenient spot for the lifts. The recently renovated rooms were smart and comfortable. Equipment rental is across the street, and there’s a beginner slope with a drag lift a short walk away. Highly recommend.

Breakfast and dinner were superb, and the hotel owners were very friendly. We also appreciated how close it was to the nearest ski lift, less than five minutes away. The rooms had recently been renovated. Ours was comfortable and very quiet, with no noise from other rooms or the hallway. The staff were friendly and capable.

We’d been staying in Obergurl village for a week without realizing there was such a good restaurant here. On our last night, after hiking back along the Rundweg to Obergurl, we passed by and tried dinner. It was excellent and unusual. My partner chose the daily menu, while I had a strawberry mocktail, barley soup, Schnitzel with Alpencheese and mushroom sauce, then blueberry datschi. Everything amazed us.
