Greil

We were there in early 2023 and loved it!!! The view from the great room was especially nice, and the restaurant food was great too. Make sure to use the pool while you’re there.

The ski area is a regular 5-minute skibus ride away, and there’s a stop right in front of Greil. They also have live music during dinner on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Mr. Sepp Greil himself and the staff gave 5 Star Service. The local food, rooms, common areas and wine were all 5 star too. For the local food, maybe 13/20 Gault millau Points would be my Suggestion. Thanks for a great time!

I spent a week at Greil last month. The food was ok and so were the rooms, but the WiFi was barely usable in the rooms, as several other guests also said. It worked downstairs in the restaurant. I’d heard it had failed in other years too, but when I raised it with Sepp, he said it wasn’t a problem. He said the real problem was the situation in Syria (!), which shocked me enough that I asked him to leave my table. He never apologized over the next four days. I found his attitude arrogant, and he seemed unable to accept any criticism of the place. I’ve visited lots of places in Tirol over the years and always enjoyed the typical Tirolian hospitality. If that’s what you’re after, I wouldn’t visit this place.

A fantastic place, and the sauna is superb. My only small complaint is that the evening meals used too much salt.
