The private beach and quaint atmosphere more than made up for the location and limited nearby shopping. The nearest shops are basically just one very basic place, so stock up on groceries and other supplies. It’s a solid 20-minute walk from the St Gilgen bus stop, and hauling luggage makes the walk tedious when arriving and leaving. The host was excellent and quick to respond. Only the minimum was provided initially, but he brought things over fast when we needed them, like the coffee powder he gave us.

The apartment was cozy and clean, with everything we needed. It’s in a good spot near the lake and has a beautiful view.

It’s a nice, clean place with cottage-style apartments and older but well-made furniture. A big bonus is that you can bring your dog.

It’s quiet and peaceful, and close to the lake. The place was clean and spacious with plenty of free parking. The Wi-Fi did slow down at night. We even saw a rainbow after the rain.

The location is great, but the bus stop is about 15 minutes away. With kids, having a car is a good idea.
