Landhaus Gertrud

Our room really needs some work, even though the location is good. The beds creaked a lot, and the bathroom is badly in need of renovation. Hallway noise came straight through the doors, which have no seals and make a loud wood-on-wood sound when they close. Room cleaning was adequate, but didn't seem especially careful. I had a similar feeling about breakfast: more attention to detail could make the buffet much nicer. There are plenty of things here that are much better than at other guesthouses, but communication with the Hungarian staff was also a big problem. For the price, I expected more effort from this guesthouse, especially since they clearly aren't making a profit on it. The neighboring bookings are the same price as Gertrud's!

The fantastic location is right by the crystal-clear water, with private access, and St. Wolfgang is only a short walk away. We spent a week at the country house and felt very comfortable. Our room was very clean and tidied every day, and breakfast had everything we could have wanted.

The lakeshore is only a road's width away, and the road has very little traffic. It's a wonderful spot by the lake, about as quiet as you could hope for. ;o)

A cozy atmosphere, a lovely spot for swimming, and really friendly, courteous staff.
