Pension Reithof

We had a great stay with friends over a long weekend. The pension is near the ski lift, the rooms were comfortable, and breakfast was good. Hope we can come back next year.

It was okay, about a 7 out of 10.

The apartment was quiet, and the beds and shower were good. We stayed five nights in a two-level place connected by a narrow spiral staircase. Getting luggage up and down was awkward, and the stairs are also the way to reach the kitchen and leave the apartment. The toilet is separate from the rest of the bathroom. Since the apartment is on the ground floor, it felt humid, there were quite a few mosquitoes, and our towels wouldn't dry. No shower gel or shampoo was provided, and the towels weren't changed, though perhaps we could have asked. We were disappointed by the kitchen setup. It had few supplies, and the only coffee maker used capsules. Guests are told they can buy capsules at a supermarket or the guesthouse. On our last evening, I only needed two for breakfast before we left, but the owner wouldn't sell them individually and insisted I buy a whole box of nearly 20 for 6 euros. I explained the situation, but she just gestured that this was how it worked. They had given us two capsules on the first day, so I found this especially ungenerous and think they should sell them separately. It felt like an abuse of power. The host also seemed unfriendly. When we returned the keys on departure day, a man went to find her so we could check out. I heard him speaking to her upstairs, but she never came down to say goodbye. Those two encounters left a very bad impression and mean I can't recommend the place. Cleaning the apartment was our responsibility. Nobody came by or checked in during our five days there. The waste sorting setup was a good eco-friendly touch, with a bin and a shed for separated rubbish. We didn't have breakfast, so I can't comment on it.

The view was breathtaking, and there was plenty to do at the guesthouse each day. Our apartment was spotless and had a lovely, homey feel; the little sauna area was nice too.
