Landhaus Almdorf

We stayed in Appartement Silberdistel, which I'd recommend if you want more room than a double room. It was bright, friendly, and had a large balcony with a view, a kitchenette, and a nicely designed bathroom. Everything looked fairly new and thoughtfully chosen. The only real problem was the shower: the glass screen didn't keep the water in, and the bathroom ended up flooded. The shower head was awkwardly placed in a corner, so standing underneath it meant bumping into the fittings. Holding it by hand made even more water spray out. I felt bad seeing the bathroom door and bedroom floor get wet and swell. After a day in the snow, I also missed having a small sauna, steam room, or infrared cabin. That didn't spoil the holiday, and the house description had made clear there wasn't one, but perhaps Landhaus could add something like that in future. The lovely tiled stove, fired every day, warmed both the hallway and breakfast room. The place is private, family-run, cozy, and lovingly arranged, in a very quiet elevated spot close to St. Johann, with wonderful views across the valley and of Wilder Kaiser. There are only a few rooms and apartments. The little bar and breakfast room is full of character, and the owners' personal care and good connection to the ski area made the stay relaxed. We enjoyed friendly conversations and useful tips. Breakfast had a small but well thought out, varied selection that got the day off to a good start. It was a peaceful, friendly place, apart from when a loud group of eight men arrived. Our first stay in St. Johann was a positive one, and we'd gladly come back.

After wanting for years to revisit St. Johann in Tirol, where we'd often gone when the children were small, my wife and I finally looked for a cozy apartment somewhere quiet. Landhaus ALMDORF was very well maintained and built in Tyrolean style. The apartment matched the website photos exactly and had comfortable beds, a fully equipped kitchenette, and a clean, spacious bathroom. It was cozy and clean. Highly recommend it!

The family were lovely, and the breakfast was excellent. Our room was fantastic, with a wonderful view. We were extremely satisfied and would highly recommend it. Truly top-notch!

We return every year and always look forward to it. It's a great guesthouse, with beautiful rooms and very high standards of cleanliness. The owners are attentive and take excellent care of what their guests need. The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired.
