Cityhotel D&C

The location worked well, close to the station, and our top-floor room was spacious with a balcony. We got a very friendly welcome. We spent the weekend here, but couldn’t understand why a one-hour later checkout, around lunchtime, wasn’t possible when the hotel was almost empty. Breakfast staff seemed unmotivated and took away all the food right at 10.

The large rooms and comfortable beds were nice, and the station, old city, and forest are all nearby. It is on the ring road, though, so there’s some noise. We asked to leave at noon instead of the 11 o’clock checkout and were told it would cost 40 euro, even though the hotel was almost empty. The female receptionist was not friendly at all. Breakfast had an okay range of food, but the music was far too loud until they turned it down when we asked. With no other options, you could try it. Luckily, we only stayed two nights.

I waited at the bar for five minutes without any waiter asking what I wanted. Then I sat on the couch for another 20 minutes and still nobody came over. It was really sad, especially since the bar was quiet enough that I could count the visitors on one hand. The receptionist also seemed very strange. My parking ticket hadn’t been validated properly, so I asked the Parkmachine help desk for help. The woman there told me to return to reception to validate it, but she turned out to be the same person at both desks. I wonder why she couldn’t simply open the parking exit gate from her desk as a nice gesture.

I’ve stayed here twice on business trips, and both visits were pleasant. The staff are very kind, the breakfast buffet has a wide selection, and the rooms are spotlessly clean. They’re also big enough that you could get lost in one. The bathrooms are well equipped.
