We keep coming back, and have done so since 2017, because we’ve never regretted a stay. The apartment has everything we need, and there’s a lovely garden with loungers for relaxing. On Mondays, the village farmers’ market is a good place to try regional specialties. There are also several restaurants, a bakery, and two supermarkets nearby. The area works well for all kinds of outings, from hiking, cycling, and jogging to motorcycling.

The location in Bodensdorf makes a useful base for exploring the region. The town itself is fairly unremarkable, though it has some nice restaurants, boat rentals, a lido, a landing stage for the Ossiacher See ferry, a pharmacy, and supermarkets. The house is next to a railway line, as Google Maps shows, but it didn’t bother me. Trains are infrequent, usually small local ones, and not very noisy. We stayed in the Superior apartment on the first floor of the larger house. It has three bedrooms, two with double beds and one smaller single room, plus a living room with a combined kitchen and about 60 satellite TV channels. There are two balconies, one facing the lake. Everything is modern, stylish, functional, and more thoroughly equipped than I’ve experienced elsewhere. We usually cook, so the kitchen stood out in particular: it had everything we needed, including a microwave, dishwasher, kettle, coffee maker, and utensils. The Neuwirth family have a real gem here. Outside the apartment there’s plenty for games in the garden, including table tennis, badminton, and other ball games. Bicycles are available too. We didn’t use them, but they looked new and good quality. There are also plenty of loungers and parasols. Mr. and Mrs. Neuwirth were friendly and helpful, and gave us lots of suggestions for trips nearby. We couldn’t fit them all in, but the ones we tried were excellent. I’d recommend the place 100%.

The owners were so friendly, and we felt right at home. The apartment was spotless and had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the terrace, with its view over the lovely garden and lake. 👍👍👍
