Familie Hopfeld - Hotel Dreikönigshof

A very handy stop on the way to or from the Alps, just a couple of minutes off the highway in a cozy part of Stockerau. The service was friendly, the rooms were very clean and breakfast was decent. The only thing I missed was a kettle in the room. We'll definitely stay here again!

The chocolate mousse was one of the best desserts I've ever had. Service was spot on, and the wine suggestions were just right, as always.

I emailed the hotel six days ago, on October 27, simply to alert them to a safety concern. They chose not to discuss it. The bathtubs are slippery. My 6-year-old daughter fell in the tub in room 308 and hit the back of her head on the plastic. Thankfully it wasn't metal. I knew the tub was a hazard and was supporting her, but a second of distraction was enough. It could have turned a holiday tragic, though luckily it didn't. Be very careful, and put a towel in the tub or bring a non-slip mat. With that said, it's a pleasant hotel with attractive rooms, reception staff who are always helpful both online and in person, and a very appetizing restaurant downstairs. My daughter insisted on pizza, unfortunately.

We turned up around 4 pm, which is very late for lunch in Austria, especially in the countryside on a weekend. They still had a couple of vegetarian choices for us. The food was warm, cosy and much more delicious than I expected. Staff served the dishes in a really interesting way, and the service was friendly and professional. We had a lovely time here and would recommend it to anyone visiting or passing through this cute city.
