We even got upgraded from a cosy, tidy regular room to the top appartment. After three days here, I felt reborn. At Landhaus Grete in Stubenberg, it's easy to switch off the TV and WiFi, even though both work perfectly. The views over Lake Stubenberg, green landscape, and the smell of grass and freshly cut wood make it feel like Austria at its best. Grete is an awesome host and gave us all the information we needed about the interesting surroundings.

The homemade poppy seed strudel waiting for us after a day trip was a real treat. The house has just a few apartments, so it feels cosy and, above all, quiet, a lovely place to get away from everyday stress. Mrs. Grete is attentive, happy to suggest places to visit, and always ready to listen. Our first stay at Landhaus Grete felt perfect from the start. Apartment 10 was spacious and charmingly rustic, with a fantastic lake view. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the hostess was very friendly. It's a lovely place near Lake Stubenberg, and the complimentary activity card was a nice bonus.

A few minutes' walk gets you to the lake, and the place itself is quiet, green and clean, among green hills with some forest. The surroundings reminded me of home around Wisła, Szczyrk, Ustroń, and Brenna. The owner's family runs Austria's second-largest hot air balloon company. Flights happen practically every day, and it's rare for them not to land, thanks to the unique microclimate. I highly recommend this spot 😊.

I've been back many times and will keep coming. Grete is a wonderful hostess, and the country house and surrounding area make for a relaxing stay. The house is beautiful, and the apartment has a great lake view.
