Pension Plattenhof

Despite being right by the highway, the place was calm and tidy. Innsbruck is an easy drive, around 20 minutes away, and the view is absolutely worth it. A cozy, affordable option near the city, and we enjoyed our one-night stay.

I was here for two business nights because I couldn't find another option, and I never felt comfortable. The room was cold when I arrived and stayed that way in the evening. One radiator was meant to heat the whole room and the tiny bathroom, and it didn't manage. The rooms are very old and poorly furnished. The sink is right in the room, while the shower and toilet are in a little space that looks like a converted storage closet. There wasn't a "Do Not Disturb" sign or any way to opt out of cleaning. I don't need service every day, and I'm uneasy knowing someone is alone in the room with my personal things. It wasn't a last-minute booking either: they had removed the blankets and pillows from two of the room's three beds, so that can't explain why it was cold. The restaurant was dark and apparently closed both Wednesday and Thursday evening, though the website said it should be open and there was no notice. The walls are paper thin, so we could hear the neighbors and the street. I can't recommend this hotel. Maybe it's okay for a quick stopover, but otherwise, no.

The room was really cold and never warmed up. It's an old hotel, but it did the job we needed, which was a place to sleep before continuing our journey. It's out of the way, though we had a car, so that wasn't a problem.

The Käsespätzle and Wiener Schnitzel were both excellent, and the prices for food and especially drinks were reasonable. Service was incredibly friendly. We were only on vacation, so this ended up being a one-time visit. If we lived nearby, we'd definitely have become regulars. Thanks so much! :)
