6/10
The location works well if you want to visit the lakes and keep costs down, and the hotel itself was OK. We were almost the only guests, apart from one night when some Germans were loud. There was no cleaning during our three-day stay. Be aware that a railway line runs behind the building, and trains honk before the crossing. We heard the noise even late at night and early in the morning.

Good value for the price. The place was clean and quiet, though a train passed now and then. Breakfast was good too.

The train noise at 6 a.m. isn't exactly relaxing. The hotel is right by the railway, and trains honk three times before crossing the nearby level crossing. I'm not sure why it's rated four stars.

The rooms are clean and nicely furnished, simple but welcoming, and the landlady is lovely. Breakfast could be better, though the price is very good. There are beautiful hiking and cycling routes just by the house, and it overlooks peaceful Lake Attersee. A lovely guesthouse, highly recommended.

The only real downside is where it is: it's a little out of the way, with a busy train line running right past. We stayed one night while passing through, and arrival and communication were smooth. Our room was spotless and comfortable, breakfast was fresh, attractively presented, and had plenty to choose from. The staff were friendly and helpful. We'd gladly return if we're in the area again.
