Apartmenthotel ´s Mitterndorf

The staff were so friendly and helpful, and our spotless room had everything we needed, including very comfortable beds. We really enjoyed staying at Apartment Hotel’s Mitterndorf. It’s in a beautiful, convenient spot, with shopping and a beach nearby. We’d happily come back.

The apartment had lovely views, and after a hike we really liked having a private little beach about a five-minute walk away. There’s a shared sauna and a small gym as well, plus breakfast on a terrace overlooking the mountains. The place is set back from the main road, so traffic noise wasn’t an issue. We came while the train, about 100 meters away, was closed. It would otherwise be the easiest way to visit nearby villages. No AC could be a drawback in warmer months. If you want to eat at a different restaurant each night, you’ll need a car or bus to get to nearby towns. All in all, 9.5/10 :)

We arrived after a five-hour drive with our one-year-old, and because it was after hours we had to check ourselves in. The email gave us the wrong safe code. I called the after-hours receptionist, who asked for the details twice before the call dropped. He didn’t answer when I called back. We were left outside with the baby and our luggage for at least 30-40 minutes. Luckily, a woman working at the restaurant had the correct code and helped us get inside. Even the last number they emailed was wrong, and she could see from our email that the code wasn’t right. The room was clean, but there was no water in it when we arrived, so we had to buy some at the restaurant, where it was very expensive. The shower head dripped randomly when switched off and made a lot of noise while we were trying to sleep. There was no AC, and the water bed was very uncomfortable. For this much money, what you get isn’t worth it. I wouldn’t stay here again.

I can’t comment on the hotel itself, but having a couple of beers at its “Share” restaurant while I waited for a train was time well spent.
