Berghotel Tulbingerkogel, The Originals Relais

The hotel sits in a secluded spot with just the forest around it, which makes it a great base for enjoying the famous Vienna Woods. The food was really nice, and the wine list is spectacular. I might have hoped for prices 10-20% lower, though the menu is online, so you can see the prices in advance. Service was uneven. Some of the waitresses didn’t make us feel especially welcome.

There’s a pond outside that makes a lovely spot for portraits. I photographed Nadja and Marcs’ Austrian / German wedding here, and the whole day was a joy. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming and helpful, keeping things running smoothly. The reception food and drinks were top-notch, and guests and the wedding party raved about the meals and range of beverages. Service was impeccable. For my photos, Instagram @t.lzrk.

The hotel looked lovely, with little cosy corners to sit in as well as a modern bar. I was surprised it was so empty. We had dinner there with my wife’s mother, and the staff were extremely nice, with very good service. The dining room is tastefully decorated, though it was brighter than I like. Dimmer lights would make it feel cosier. The food was nicely presented but quite salty, perhaps the Chef is in love? Still, we had a very nice evening in what can only be described as a perfect location.

The landscape views are beautiful, and it’s a very quiet spot with a luxurious feel. The atmosphere was great. We had very good food, a strong wine selection, and plenty of spirits to choose from at the end. This place is worth a visit.
