The reception staff were really good, and the hotel is in a lovely little city. My room was comfortable, nicely laid out and well equipped, with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was good too. It seems well set up for cyclists. I was travelling alone, so the see-through shower wasn't an issue for me.

I won't be coming back or recommending this place. The staff came across as arrogant and disrespectful, and I felt their treatment of customers was discriminatory and racist. It was almost impossible to communicate with them. They either couldn't speak English or another foreign language, or didn't want to. They didn't seem prepared or interested in helping, and their appearance was unkempt. I won't go into more detail. Anyone who doubts me can see for themselves, but this experience was enough for me.

The hotel has no gym or pool, and sharing a room with my kids made the completely clear shower door a real problem for me. There was no noticeable warning about it when booking, even though several other reviews mention the same issue. The rooms are clean and modern. The sink is also in the bedroom, which isn't ideal, but I can live with that. At least the separate toilet has a regular door.

Michael made a big difference to our stay. He welcomed us warmly, paid attention to the details and was happy to help with anything we asked. He arranged bike rentals and handled a last-minute change with a smile and real professionalism. Service like that is rare. Best Western should give him a raise, he's a real credit to them.

The rooms were comfortable and clean, but breakfast wasn't good and the bar was terrible. I'd call it a 3* hotel.
