Gästehaus Marina

We stayed for a week in these comfortable, spacious apartments. The balcony has a stunning view over Tux valley, and the rooms are modern and well maintained. There are lots of ways to enjoy the Alps nearby. We’d definitely come back and highly recommend it.

The villa itself is okay, but during our stay we didn’t feel welcome. We expected the host and staff to make some effort to smile and be nice, and that wasn’t our experience. We had no luck contacting the owner between booking and arrival. We sent several emails in different languages with questions and got no reply. The full amount was charged on the booking date, unlike most other providers. There’s no chance to pay by card, so you need cash for the resort and cleaning fee. After skiing, there’s nowhere in the villa to sit for a drink or a chat. There is a small breakfast area on the top floor, but the owner doesn’t let guests use it in the evening. Breakfast was very basic for the room price. The staff were unfriendly. We were repeatedly warned, in a patronizing way, that our boots would damage the carpets and floors. They also didn’t respect our privacy. While we were having a drink in one of the apartments, the owner came in without warning or knocking to argue that it was too late for drinking, even though it was well before midnight.

A peaceful, beautiful spot to rest. You hear nothing but nature in the extraordinary surroundings. Unbelievable.

The apartments in Tux are luxurious, with large rooms, good architecture, and plenty of equipment. They cost more, but I think they’re worth it.
