Hotel Sonne

The hotel’s spot at the first bus stop on the way up to the glacier was really convenient, before the route gets further up the hill and busier. The cleaners came every day, though we often asked to have our rooms done every other day instead. We’re a group of English ski instructors staying here for a month, and Melanie and her family couldn’t do enough for us. They helped us deal with mechanics and garages when our vehicle had problems, and did our laundry when needed. Even though it’s not peak season, the hospitality has been great. It’s the little things, like learning everyone’s name and taking a real interest in you, that made us feel so welcome. Can’t recommend this family-run hotel enough.

The meals were tasty, varied, and nutritious, with delicious breakfasts and dinners, and the family were flexible about meal times to suit our team. The ski room and sauna were good, and our rooms were spacious and spotless. It was exceptional value for money. I stayed at Hotel Sonne for a month with a group of ski instructors training for our exams. Melanie and her family looked after us superbly. I arrived before the others and they let me check in early. They welcomed us and learned our names right away, did my washing at odd hours, and helped teammates with a local car repair and logistics after a ski accident. They were always friendly and helpful, even giving us the morning weather forecast. Thanks for a great month, Melanie and Pepe and family!

Clean rooms, a nice spa, and a shuttle to the ski lift and village centre made for a great stay. The staff were very friendly and kind, and the food was excellent, home cooked. I’ll definitely come back!

Really disappointed with the staff and how the room was cleaned. We went four days without soap. Wouldn’t recommend it.
