Hotel Bachmayerhof - Uderns

We were glad we picked Hotel Bachmayerhof for our first ski holiday in 5 years. The hotel is about 45 minutes by car from Innsbruck Airport, and renting a car is easy, just across from the terminal. The Zillertal Valley ski areas are all within easy reach: Spieljoch is 10 minutes away, Hochzillertal - Kaltenbach, Zillertal Arena, and Mayrhofner are each 15 minutes, Hochfugen is 25 minutes, and Hintertux Glacier is 45 minutes. Our room changed during the stay, so we got to see two, and both were clean, spacious, and well appointed. The staff were friendly and helpful. They speak very little English, so brushing up on German is a good idea, though we managed fine with our basic skills. The all-inclusive deal covers breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, and plenty of food with lots of choices at every meal. You can take a packed lunch from breakfast using the plastic bags provided. Free drinks include unlimited soft drinks and hot drinks until 10pm, plus red or white wine and beer on tap. Bottles of better quality wine are available to buy if you'd prefer something else. We couldn't fault the hotel or its location and would happily recommend it.

The hosts were very nice, and the hotel and rooms were clean. There’s a bus stop right outside, and the ski and boot room has plenty of space and warming racks. We enjoyed the buffet meals with lots of choices, plus unlimited drinks on tap from 10am-10pm, including alcohol. There’s also a games room with pool and table tennis.

The staff really helped us out when our daughter got a splinter in her foot and we had no tweezers. They went out of their way to find some, and the operation was a success. We also liked the room, especially the bathroom, which was more modern than we expected, with a large fixed showerhead. Meals came from large buffets with plenty to choose from. If it’s available, try the white wine shrimps with curcuma rice. Drinks on tap are included from 10am to 10pm, and the Coca Cola tasted much better than the syrup version at typical fast food places. There’s parking all around the building. A very nice stay, especially for a 3-star hotel.

The ski bus stops right outside this really nice little hotel. Everything was clean, and you could see the attention to detail. The food was excellent, with something we liked every day even with picky kids. Our rooms had what we needed, and the beds were made daily, with clean towels if we needed them. Great service, I’d recommend staying here.
