The food was the highlight, with a great choice at breakfast and a wonderful dinner selection each evening. Our family room was generously sized and comfortably designed, and the staff were warm and friendly. Everyone looked after us well, from meals and check in and out to advice on things to do and getting around. Kids are welcome, but the hotel isn’t overrun by them, which makes it a good family holiday option if you want a quieter setting than the usual kid oriented hotels. There’s a small playground, an indoor play room for bad weather, a special kids menu at dinner, and the kids got a little toy with each meal that they really looked forward to. We liked being a bit farther from the village, though you could hear the road now and then. It’s still close enough to walk to the village, with forests and the mighty Saalach river around it. There’s lots to do nearby, especially with the Saalachtal card, which we used almost every day. Don’t miss the Lofer Almwelt or the different gorges! We really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely return.

The kitchen was great. Since it’s a family hotel, the selection isn’t huge, but you can choose dinner from three options. We had a four course dinner every day and a welcome drink on the first evening. We stayed for a week, and the local family running the place were kind and flexible. When we wanted to go to Munich on Friday, we asked for an early breakfast. They said it was no problem and served it an hour earlier. They’re really kind.

We were only there briefly, but made the most of it: swimming in the wonderful pool, playing ping pong, hiking, and biking. The food was really good, the service was wonderful, and the whole place had a good feel. We’d definitely like to come back.

We had a great family vacation. The hotel was super, and the owners’ whole family were very nice and helpful. We rented an e bike too. Couldn’t be happier with the service or the location.
