Tauernlodges Uttendorf by ALPS RESORTS

The view in the morning is stunning, and the lake is just a short walk away. The place is in a great spot and very well equipped, with its own sauna and a kitchenette connected to a living and dining area that seats 10 easily. The beds are very comfortable; one bedroom has an ensuite, and there are three more bathrooms, making it good for 8-10 people. The nearest spa supermarket, bakery and church are about a 10-minute walk. The hotel restaurant is close too, though there isn’t much else in the village. Zell am See is 25 minutes away, and the nearby train ride is comfortable. Highly recommended.

The area is beautiful, with great mountain scenery and plenty to do, including a swimming lake within crawling distance. We’ve just had two blissful weeks in apartment 1C. It’s spacious, clean and nicely furnished, with good beds and a large bathroom for each of the two bedrooms. The staff are very courteous and provide great service, and the Wi-Fi is excellent. The kitchen is tiny and its appliances are below average. The road right outside is busy, noisy and full of speeding traffic, so sitting on the terrace is basically out. The garage parking spot is a plus, although it’s wedged between two walls and makes getting in and out as the driver a challenge.

The location is excellent, with SPAR just a 7-minute walk away and the lake 5 minutes away, handy for summer activities and the kids’ playground. The facilities were quite good too, but I was disappointed that there was no shower gel, hand wash or bin bags. I’ve never run into that on my travels in Austria before.

We chose apartment 4D and liked it best of the apartments, especially for its lovely furnishings. Uttendorf is great for families, and the ski areas are only 10 minutes away.
