Gastehaus Gertrude

My granddaughter and I only had two nights at Haus Gertrude, which felt much too short. We were in the James Dean room, and the house was spotless, beautiful, and full of thoughtful details. Sylvia made us feel so welcome and was always there when we had a question. Breakfast was amazing, and the center is just a two-minute walk away. I wholeheartedly recommend it and will be back myself. Thank you, dear Sylvia!

The house has a lovely old wooden staircase, and the rooms each have a theme. We stayed in the James Dean Room, while there's also an Elizabeth Taylor Room. Elizabeth Taylor stayed at the Gertrude Guesthouse with her husband and two sons in summers during the 1950s. Breakfast was delicious, and we enjoyed the balcony. The busy main road right outside is the one drawback, though the lake's lively area is less than a five-minute walk away. We'll definitely return.

The breakfast was superb, and the owner is a wonderful hostess who puts her heart into running Pension "Gertrude". We slept incredibly well, better than we had in a long time, and found the rooms clean, comfortable, and delightful. The warm service and excellent location added to a lovely Lake Wörthersee holiday. The house has a charming nostalgic feel, too. Whenever we come back to Lake Wörthersee, we'll book here again. We can wholeheartedly recommend it. ☆☆☆☆☆

We've stayed at Gästehaus Gertrude twice now during the GTI Meeting, and already have another holiday planned there. The "Marilyn Monroe" room is bright, spacious, beautifully furnished, and spotless. It has a well-equipped kitchen and a large balcony with a lovely view of Lake Wörthersee. The hosts are incredibly friendly and always do their best to meet our requests. We feel at home every time.
