Strandhotel Schabus

The lake view was beautiful, and on a rainy day there were ping pong, foosball, and a sauna to use. There's also a nice restaurant up the hill, about a five minute walk up and three minutes back down. We were glad we brought umbrellas. This is a good spot if you want to get away from the city. I liked the hotel, and the service was excellent. The rooms are spacious and updated, but the keys and heating could be better. The room key comes on a large fob with the room number on it, and opens both the building and the room. If you're staying outside the main building, there's no elevator, so I had to carry our luggage up two flights. We'd thought about walking the 45 minutes from the train station, but with the chilly rain we took a taxi for 13 Euros. It went past a nice shopping area in Velden. I would've liked to enjoy the lake and go boating or something, but the weather didn't cooperate.
