The location worked really well, with tram 5 and 12 just a few minutes away, and you can change to the D tram to get where you want. Bus 5a is about a 6-7 minute walk, and there’s a market only 1-2 minutes away. The rooms are big, but the floors are old and squeaky. Reception was good. I skipped breakfast because 15€ felt too expensive, and I found a place a few minutes away on foot for half the price. The bed was too soft for me, and the pillow was awful. I had to sleep on a small pillow because the main one was basically just a cover with nothing inside.

On our first night, at 11:30 PM, two drunk men came to the room door, banged on it, then pushed me and barged into the room. I called the owners at midnight and got no response. I didn’t feel safe at Appartment Hotel Marien Hof, so at 12:30 AM I moved somewhere else for the night. When I called reception the next morning, on 7th June, they said they couldn’t do anything and couldn’t promise it wouldn’t happen again in their own hotel. They told me to wait until 4 PM to speak with the hotel owner. The owner showed no interest in resolving my complaint and said they weren’t responsible for guest safety on the property, and the hotel didn’t care because the money had already been paid. The owner was passive-aggressive and unhelpful. The place I booked turned out to be unsafe.

The heating was great, and the price was budget friendly. The location wasn’t bad either. Honestly, though, it wasn’t very clean or tidy, and the furniture was really old.

The room was very clean and comfortably warm, and the parking inside the hall was really practical since the car wasn’t left on the street. We booked quickly, mainly because of the location, and communication through the Booking platform was pleasant and clear. At reception, a very nice man gave us the keys and all the information we needed. Check-in was easy, the staff were pleasant, and the U-bahn is only a 10-minute walk away. The accommodation was very affordable too. I’d definitely recommend it, and we’ll come back.
