Boutique Hotel Piano Nobile – am Stubenring Hotel

I barely slept for three nights because my room door wouldn’t lock, and I felt unsafe. It was only fixed on my last night, and I received no compensation. I first noticed the lock problem when another guest accidentally walked into my room. Staff initially brushed it off and said they’d make sure no one else came in. The next morning, someone else said I could move rooms if it wasn’t fixed by the end of the day. But when I followed up that night, a new staff member said a room change was impossible because the hotel was full. Nothing was done until the final night. It’s taken me almost a year to write this, as I didn’t plan to leave a review at first. But the more I think about the stay, the more I feel I should share it. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had. Avoid it.

The building was lovely, and getting into the city center was easy thanks to the location. The breakfast was average. We weren’t told before check-in that the radiators weren’t working throughout the building. We only learned there was construction going on, not that we’d have heating problems. The AC worked poorly, so we had to ask for extra blankets.

Maurice was a star, polite and very understanding of what guests need. The service was excellent, and staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. The hotel is ideally placed for walking to most sights and has good tram, subway, and train connections.

The elevator serves the second and third floors, and housekeeping came daily. They were ready to help with anything we asked for. I’d planned to stay just one night, but the service impressed me enough that I stayed two more days. The female staff member (B) was very beautiful and kind, and the rest of the staff were friendly too. They made me like Austria even more. I’d love to stay again. P.S. no massage haha.
