Carlton Suites

The apartment was massive, with a lounge, dining area, kitchen, and bedroom. The suites are in a great spot: the underground lines are about 500-600 metres away, closer than that might sound, and Stephansdom cathedral is roughly the same distance. If I had to pick at something, the lift was a little small, though it wasn't a major issue.

The apartment felt sterile and uncomfortable, and even after the lobby repainting is finished, I don't think that will change. During our four nights at the Carlton Suites, the building work meant a messy lobby and cigarette smoke in the hallways. The location was the clear plus: about a ten-minute walk to St Stevens Cathedral and the city center, with excellent restaurants and pubs nearby. The unit itself was only so-so. Furnishings were sparse, with just a loveseat for two in a place sleeping three or four, the kitchen was bare bones, and the bathroom setup was uncomfortable. It also badly needed a deep clean. The floors looked shiny, but there was gross mopping residue along the baseboards. The whole thing felt slapdash.

The apartments are roomy and comfortable, and the location in central Vienna makes nearly everything an easy walk away. Some upgrades are needed, but I'd recommend it for the location.

The location was very good, but the bed was really bad.
