CheckVienna Edelhof Apartments

It was clean, and being close to the metro made it easy to get around. The area was quiet and people were friendly too. Our room's bathtub didn't drain properly, which was inconvenient, and the only covers available for the queen bed were for single beds.

For such a low price, I wasn't expecting much, but the apartments were still short on comfort and anything special. There was dust on shelves and behind doors, and our room even had an open yoghurt in the fridge. You can't ask for a lot at that price, though they could easily do a bit better.

The apartments were spacious and clean when we arrived, and the metro is a short walk away. It worked well for a short stay, though ants showed up in the kitchen every morning, so I wouldn't rate it higher.

We couldn't get anyone at Check Vienna to help during our five-day stay. The front door keypad failed, and we had no key for it; the shower and toilet were both blocked. We left several messages and got no call back. Getting the flat key through the automatic system worked fine, but after that the place was awful. It was shabby and in a basement, with full rubbish bins in front of the only two windows, overlooking a terrible courtyard. Inside smelled strongly of must and rubbish, and opening the windows wasn't an option because of the smell. I was worried rats might get in, and there were spiders all over the bedroom.
