DaunTown Rooms - Self Check-In

The city is pretty clear, with lots of bars and shops nearby. If you need a cheap room while travelling, this is a good choice. The rooms were okay, but small. The door was awful: light came through from the corridor along with a lot of noise, and I couldn’t sleep properly. The pillow wasn’t very satisfying either.

The room we got had windows facing inside the building on three walls, including one across from the bed onto a corridor used by other guests. Anyone walking through could look in, so we had to keep the curtains closed the whole time. None of the listing photos showed this kind of room; every pictured room had a normal window. It’s scandalous to offer a room like this without showing it in the advert, and I don’t recommend it to anyone. When I spoke with the facility representative, he said there was no other room available and couldn’t resolve anything. Booking.com tried to help, but only wanted to refund us 44 € out of the 220€ we paid. The facility refused to refund anything, so we’d have received nothing without Booking.com. They said the room “fits” the standard shown on the website, which is funny because to me a NORMAL window is the standard. The pictures and videos show the view from the room and corridor. The customer service was terrible.

The location is central, and it’s a budget-friendly place to stay. My room was clean and smelled nice, and getting in was no trouble.

The automated check-in was very easy, and the modern rooms were clean and tidy. They’re small, but good for the price. Still, a really strong fried cabbage smell kept filling our room during the night and again in the morning, possibly from the restaurant downstairs. We were on the 3rd floor. I’m not sure if it came through the corridor or windows, but the isolation needs to be better. The walls are thin and you can hear everything, though that part can’t be fixed.
