Duschel Apartments Wien-Hauptbahnhof

We stayed for two weeks while moving to the city and waiting to transition into our house. The biggest concern was safety: people had a master key and opened our room without warning. We pushed them back because we didn't know who they were. They said they wanted to clean, and the same thing happened the next day with two large men who said they were there to fix something. The place itself was dirty, with large patches of mold and fungus, and the bathroom felt unsafe because the equipment wasn't installed properly. We tried to contact the owner, as others have mentioned, but got no reply. I wouldn't stay here.

Our host was kind and helpful, and the three apartments worked well for our group of ten over ten days. They're in a handy spot near train and subway stations, with plenty of bars, restaurants, and shops nearby. There's even a Spar in the hauptbahnhof open daily from 7:30 to 23:00. Each apartment is spacious and well stocked, with an oven, dishwasher, washing machine, air dryer, iron, toaster, towels, linen, toilet paper, and beds made up on arrival. They also have air conditioning. The main bed is large and comfortable, though the sofa is small, so sleeping four in one apartment was a bit difficult. In summer, bring a sleep mask since the windows have no shutters.

The location made getting around easy, with the main train and bus station under a five-minute walk away and loads of restaurants and convenience stores right nearby. The apartment has a balcony, smart TV, hair dryer, ironing board, drying rack, vacuum, and the other basics. There was soap in both bathrooms, the kitchen, and the tub or shower, plus laundry detergent for the washer. The bed was comfortable and had a proper queen mattress, not two smaller ones pushed together. The coffee machine takes filters, though a pod machine would have been more convenient. The pillows were awful, my head sank right down to the mattress. They need firmer ones.

The balcony was a nice spot to have breakfast early, and I could hang my laundry there too. I spent four nights in a one-bedroom apartment and had a good stay. It's clean and has what I needed for a short trip, including a little open kitchen with an oven where I made noodles in the morning. I also ran the washing machine in the bathroom every day, with washing powder provided. The location is convenient, close to Keplerplatz station on the U1 line and only a few metro stops from Vienna's main sights. There are plenty of restaurants nearby.
