At 10pm, with the temperature at 1 degree celzius, three children aged 1, 2 and 5 and their parents were left in the hall of this so called hotel without a room. They said there had been a misunderstanding due to their reception system, but they'd rebooked our room to other people. Two other rooms were apparently in the same situation. Before check-in, we had called and told the desk we needed two nights. They put our belongings into black 25L trash bags and handed them over, saying, “no no you booked 1 night” in indian English. We had left emergency money in each of our three rooms, and none of it was found. €1200 is missing. At 10.15pm, one of the “gentlemen” who barely seemed interested in returning our things asked, “what else are you waiting for?” He offered to have us PAY for other rooms, with no apology and a really rough tone. The new guests who got our rooms showed us more empathy than the “hotel” staff. The rooms look like a wreck, bathroom drains flood, windows leak, and the hall stairs haven't been cleaned in ages. Breakfast is served better for pigs and cattle. It was all still going on at 11pm, after we'd spent the whole day on our feet, and then we had to drive 700km back home. We will file for the police report. This is a mild but honest review. I wouldn't recommend it even to my worst enemy.

I booked this place because it was cheap, then got worried after reading the reviews. With my family, I was pleasantly surprised by a lot of it. The receptionist spoke perfect english and was really helpful. We had two bedrooms, one for two people and one for three, and both were clean and nice. Breakfast was sufficient, and the lady working there was friendly, though the room felt a little empty and sad and could use some decorating. The bathroom in the three-person room was much nicer than the one in my two-person room. It looked newly renovated, fresh and modern. Mine clearly needed work: the light was extremely yellow and only worked about half the time when we flicked the loosely hanging wall switch. The fan was extremely loud and came on with the light, so with the yellow glow and loud burring I felt like I was sitting in a microwave. The toilet seat was crooked and almost fell off whenever I sat down. Maybe they were renovating room by room and just hadn't reached ours yet, so I won't be too harsh about it. The stay exceeded my expectations, and for the price it was good value. You get what you pay for.

The staff were lovely, but this budget hotel shows its age. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. Public transport was about 8-13 minutes away, which felt a bit far at night.

Awful experience arriving around 0:45 o clock. The hotel was closed, so we called the hotline and were told by the worker to pay by card, even though booking com says cash payment is available. Then he said cash wasn't possible after midnight, a restriction the site doesn't mention. We were told to walk half an hour to another hotel that would take cash, or order a taxi. They didn't offer to pay for the ride. Never go to this hotel.

The old-fashioned style gave the place a nice charm, and the peaceful location suited us well. Our room was spotless, the bed very comfortable, and the bathroom immaculate. Service was exceptional, with staff always ready to help. There was also a shopping center with a grocery store nearby, which made things convenient. Hotel Hoffinger met my expectations, highly recommended! 😊🏨🛏️🚿🛒🕰️
