Hotel Donaustadt Kagran

The U1 station is only 200 m away, which was a real benefit for me since it's the most important line in Vienna. Breakfast had plenty of food and drinks, simple but totally enough. I booked two rooms for my family of four, and it worked out great: each room had a bathroom with a shower and a separate toilet. We really enjoyed staying here. For my family, it was very good value for money, and a couple of people I asked also thought it was okay. There were some stains left by guests who couldn't behave, but the owner and cleaning ladies did their best to keep things clean. The smell was fine. People smoke in the street and there's a tram nearby, but so what? I also had a problem with a card, which a very nice man solved over the phone. Thank you!

We won't be back. Reception is open from noon until 8 pm, and I got the impression that the no-smoking rule in rooms isn't consistently enforced. The breakfast was below average. The Hotel Donaustadt Kagran has good access and a good location, but cleanliness in our room left a lot to be desired. Even after we asked, only certain spots were cleaned. The staff didn't move our four-wheeled suitcases to clean the corners, which seemed careless. Dust in the corners and across the carpet spoiled our stay, and the carpet stains mentioned in other reviews were visible. The shower shelf was broken and hanging there.

It's close to the metro, but the facilities feel like a 2-star hotel. Reception is open for very limited hours. The mattress and pillow were too soft, and there was no ventilation in the room. Leaving the window open wasn't an option because the train goes right past and makes an incredible noise.

A cheap place to stay in Vienna, and cleanliness was perfect, no issues there. The rooms are pretty mediocre, so don't expect much, but it's fine for a shorter visit.
